Supino Pizzeria: Fantastic Pizza with a Casual Vibe
If there was a competition and I was judging, Supino Pizzeria would hands down win “Best Pizza” in Detroit. The crust was incredible and cooked to perfection! They had a great pizza menu paired with a handful of coordinating appetizers that features local and organic ingredients. I highly recommend the Polpette. Don’t sleep on their wine and beer list. No muss, no fuss, just delicious food. Perfect for a dinner for 2 or a small family!
Vivio’s Eastern Market: Eastern Market Staple
Full disclosure- We were checking out Eastern Market which is the oldest open market in Michigan filled with colorful produce and variety of vendors. After all the browsing, we worked up quite the appetite. Vivio’s was right there waiting for us, inviting us with its large outdoor “Bloody Mary” sign. They had an awesome list of sandwiches perfect for lunch but, the star of the show was their mussels menu. What a delightful surprise! From spicy cajun, pub-style, to Jamaican-jerk, there are really no wrong choices.
Slows BBQ: Southern vibes in the Great Lakes
First of all, don’t judge the book by its cover. This restaurant appears closed from the outside as its heavy wooden door blends into the outside wall. However, once you open and step inside, you smell the delicious aroma of BBQ and hear the buzz of the town. The cornbread was ridiculously soooo tasty! I ordered the Baby Back Ribs which was a slam dunk and do not be afraid to bring your vegetarian loved ones to this joint. There are some interesting options for them such as the Jack Burton Sandwich which has jackfruit as a meat substitute and of course old faithful, oozy, cheesy macaroni, and cheese.
